Three candidates for president of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ have been selected to visit and meet with employees, students and the public as part of the search to replace current President Thomas K. McKeon before his retirement June 30.

McKeon served TCC for 33 years in various administrative roles and for the last decade as the College’s president.

Dr. Leigh Goodson, Dr. Richard Shrubb and Dr. Ann Valentine are scheduled to be in Tulsa on April 1, 2, and 3 for meetings and interviews at TCC and to participate in open public forums. The public forums will be held at 2 p.m. each day. The forums will be open to all and include a brief statement from the candidate and include a free-form question and answer format. Feedback forms will be provided to all attendees.

The public forums begin with Dr. Richard Shrubb on Tuesday, April 1 at TCC Northeast Campus Large Auditorium, NEC1470; followed by Dr. Leigh Goodson on Wednesday, April 2 at TCC Southeast Campus Student Union Auditorium, SU9101; and then Dr. Ann Valentine on Thursday, April 3 at TCC Metro Campus Commons.

Goodson is currently vice president for Research and Institutional Advancement at the Oklahoma State University’s Center for Health Sciences and Tulsa campuses and formerly served as vice president for Enrollment Management and External Affairs for the OSU HSC in Tulsa. The combined campuses have a student population of 2,307 students.

Shrubb is president of the Minnesota West Community and Technical College where he recently announced his retirement. Formerly he was vice president of Academic and Students Affairs for Terra State Community College in Ohio. Minnesota West Community and Technical College has 5,500 students.

Valentine is chancellor at Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley where she has served in that role for three years. Previously, she was president of Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley Campus is part of the Ivy Tech system in Indiana and has 3,100 students.

Steps in the search have included the development of a Presidential Profile reflecting college and community desires for the future president. The Search Committee reviewed applications and selected nine candidates for video interviews and five candidates who were referred to the full Board of Regents for individual meetings. Three candidates were selected to move forward.

Members of the Search Committee were: Regent Ron Looney serving as chair of the Search Committee; Regents Paul Cornell and Bill McKamey; Mary Shaw, former chair of the TCC Foundation; Larry Mocha, current chair of the TCC Foundation; employees Mary Cantrell, Pam Chew, Dr. Jan Clayton, Dr. Mike Limas, and Terry Jacobs-Davis; civic leader Shane Fernandez; and, student Serena Poteete.

In addition to the public forums where individual candidates will receive and answer questions from employees, students and the public, the candidates will meet privately with individual members of the Board of Regents. The Board of Regents hopes to vote on a final candidate and offer the position prior to McKeon’s retirement in June.
