������ý West Campus hosts the 2014 Family Fun Fair with free activities for the entire family. The event, a nearly 30-year tradition, focuses on the family unit and helps foster healthy and happy children by bringing families together in a safe and educational environment.

The Family Fun Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 5 at TCC West Campus, 7505 W. 41st Street South. The campus comes alive with games and live entertainment for the entire family as well as free immunizations for qualified families and health screenings. New this year, TCC students in the Veterinarian Technology and Pediatric Nursing academic programs will join the Early Childhood Development program to take part in the event.

Sponsors of the 2014 Family Fun Fair are Tulsa City-County Library, Child Care Resource Center, AEP Public Service Company of Oklahoma and ������ý.

“PSO is pleased to help sponsor the Family Fun Fair activities in recognition of the Week of the Young Child,” said Stuart Solomon, PSO President and Chief Operating Officer. We have a long legacy of supporting positive educational experiences for children, and we know that the Family Fun Fair activities will stimulate learning for both children and their families in a fun and healthy atmosphere.”

There will be plenty of activities for families to do together with the Tulsa Children’s Museum and the Tulsa Air and Space Museum taking part in the 2014 Family Fun Fair. The Tulsa Children’s Museum bubble exhibit is sure to capture the attention of all kids as they use tubs and tables to make bubbles. In addition, the Tulsa City-County Library will be on hand to give away free books.

This year’s fair will have exhibits and displays to see and touch including a PSO Bucket Truck, a fire truck and EMSA ambulance. There will be activities and entertainment tailored for children with live presentations and mascots.

The entertainment will include Chris Capstone, who will bring his old fashioned vaudeville style performance with sleight of hand tricks, illusions and a hilarious brand of comedy. This is one performance where audience participation is required and you will feel like you have been transported back in time with his antique props.

The Oklahoma Caring Van will provide free immunizations for eligible kids. Legal guardians must bring a present copy of the child’s current immunization records. Prevent Blindness will hold vision screenings using a special camera that doesn’t require young children to verbalize letters or numbers and allows for the screening to be done at an earlier age.

The Family Fun Fair is free and open to the public. The event is part of the national Week of the Young Child sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and presented locally by the Tulsa Early Childhood Association.
