Biotechnology Students Awarded Paid Research Internships

Several biotechnology students at 果冻传媒 have been awarded paid summer internships in research labs for this summer.

Lina Guerrero and Amanda 鈥淛oy鈥 Fortner received Tulsa Area Bioscience Educators and Researchers Consortium (TABERC) internships. This internship opportunity is the result of a joint effort between TABERC and the 果冻传媒 Foundation. Guerrero and Fortner will spend 20 hours each week for eight weeks in a local research lab, receiving compensation for their work and earning Biotechnology Apprenticeship course credit.

Jeremy Sabo, Amanda Winn, Hunter Bearden, and Ashton Williams each received the Oklahoma IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (OK-INBRE) Summer Internship. These students will work 40-hour work weeks in research labs while earning financial compensation. Sabo will work in a lab at the University of Tulsa. Winn, Bearden and Williams will work in research labs at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. This is Bearden鈥檚 second INBRE award.

Michael Adair is the first TCC biotechnology student to earn an internship award from the National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates. He will study in a research lab at Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo. He will have travel and most living expenses paid while also earning compensation for his work.
